Raise them around white ppl who have things going on with themselves (home owners, business owners, artists, etc.) You want carefree black children, then you have raise them in environments that don't assault them on a daily basis. That’s my advice for how black kids can grow up carefree Like I didn’t know how bad colorism was until I was older because in 90%+ settings, you’re all just black, for example. Lastly, there were so many issues (within the BC) that you grow up far removed from and not aware of until you’re much, much older. This allows a kid to develop a positive view of the world because you don’t become aware negativity that isn’t directly related to your life. The most controversial thing I will say in this post is that I didn’t watch the news growing up and I still don’t. I feel like those of us that grew up in environments where we were allowed to be unique individuals, partake in hobbies that we actually wanted to take, even if you were the only black kid around, things like archery and fencing, allowed us to blossom into who we truly are.

It basically means being yourself and seeing yourself as an original person first and foremost and not really a member of any community. I feel like us black girls that partially grew up and lived in 90%+ white environments grew up more carefree and with a less restricted idea of what black means.

I’m going to start with myself and share my top tips with you on how to raise carefree black girls (and boys too).
